Beach Hop

We've seen media reports of people with holiday homes on the Coromandel planning to travel here for Easter. This is against the Government's directive to stay home (or wherever you were) from 11:59pm on March 25th.

PLEASE DO NOT travel to the Coromandel and please STAY HOME until AFTER the lock down.

We want Repco Beach Hop 20 to be held in November, and the only way we will get there is if people of New Zealand follow the rules. Don't stuff it up for everyone else.

Keep well,

The Team

Beach Hop

This morning we learnt of the passing of one of our treasured Beach Hop family.

Les Audain & his wife Jenny owned and operated Thames Auto Painters for over 40 years and they painted number of our prize vehicles over the years.

They are staunch supporters of the Festival and attended many times over the years with their radical 1936 Morris 8 Hot Rod.

Les passed away this morning due to an aggressive cancer, and we send our love & support to his beautiful wife of 48 years, Jenny. They were a beautiful couple together and we know how much she will miss him.

Thanks for all you have done for us over the years and we will honour Les with an award at the Festival for years to come.

RIP our dear friend.

Beach Hop

It's a day of reflection for us at Beach Hop Central. It's a beautiful day here in Whangamata and we would have been assembling at the Ford Reserve (Williamson Park) to kick off Repco Beach Hop 20.

We URGE YOU ALL to follow the Government's instruction and STAY HOME from midnight tonight, unless you work in an essential service, so we can all work together to get through this.

Use this time to treasure the people you love, be kind to each other, and work on those projects around the house and in the garage - some may even get their cars ready for Repco Beach Hop 20 MK2!

We're working on our online store which should be up and running very soon - watch here for details.

Take care,

The Team
